Drawing easy comparisons to Taito's Psychic Force, TV Animation X pits two combatants inside a transparent cube which floats above a modern cityscape dotted with skyscrapers in the background. Inside the cube, the airborne warriors punch, kick, and fire off salvoes of illuminated projectiles at each other. The original Psychic Force faltered in the gameplay department where a cheap player was able to hit and run for the duration of a match. TVX solves this by allowing for dash moves which closes the distance between two fighters quickly. A temporary shield move also forces players to get up close and battling in order to inflict damage.
