With Tales of Tempest, Namco brings their long-running Tales RPG series to the Nintendo DS.
The story begins with a boy named Caius, who lives in a village that comes under attack and the only way to defeat the attackers is for his father to transform himself into beast form. The discovery of Caius's father being of the Lycanth race causes the villagers to form a hunting party in order to capture him. Caius along with his friend Rubia and his father escape from the village. Cauis begins his search for his real parents as his so called "father" tells him of his real parents before they part ways.
Tale of the Tempest continues its tradition of its Linear Motion Battle System across three linear planes in which players can move between these planes at will. Also featured is a beastman transformation ability where Lycanth characters are able to transform into their beast form during battles and receive increased strength and attack power.
